Translating
Our activities mainly include translating documents and articles from English to Japanese or Japanese to English when requested by the Japanese Red Cross Society and IFRC* and other welfare-related organizations. These are usually documents concerning the activities of the Japanese Red Cross Society and public relations articles. Their requests are irregular. We mainly translate them at home and recruit translators from our members on a case-by-case basis. Participants can check the contents and carry out activities in consultation with our coordinators.
A unique case involved the translation of albums handmade by elementary and junior high school students in Japan and overseas. Through these albums the students exchanged information such as Red Cross activities and introductions to their communities. Recently, we have also added proofreading work for AI-translated manuscripts.
