大阪・関西万博　国際赤十字・赤新月運動館運営スタッフ活動 -Volunteering at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Pavilion, Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai-

5日間、赤十字・国際赤十字・赤新月運動館にて運営ボランティアとして活動させていただきました。主に来場者のご案内や、海外からのお客様への対応を担当していました。
活動期間中のうち3日間は連休と重なり、キャンセル待ちの列がテントからあふれるほどの混雑となりました。入場案内は12分ごとに行われ、予約の有無や到着時間に応じて、直接入場、次回予約受付レーン、キャンセル待ち列などへ案内するなど、状況に応じた臨機応変な対応が求められました。
夏場の屋外勤務は厳しい環境ではありましたが、全国から集まったスタッフたちと協力し合い、効率的かつ円滑な運営を心がけながら、楽しく活動することができました。多くの来場者と関わり、大変有意義な5日間となりました。

I volunteered for five days at our pavilion. My main responsibilities were acting as a guide for visitors and assisting guests from overseas.
On the three of my five days that coincided with a long weekend, the queues for standby entry were so long they stretched out of the tents in front of our pavilion. With conducted tours taking place every 12 minutes, I had to direct visitors to the appropriate line, depending upon whether they had a fast-track pass; a reservation for entry at a given time; or standby entry.
Although the outdoor work in the summer heat was physically demanding, I was able to enjoy the experience and got to work with staff from all over Japan. And interacting with a large number of visitors made this an extremely meaningful five days. I am truly grateful for having been given such a valuable opportunity.
